Kupwara, September 22: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse (IAS), today flagged off a group of beneficiaries from the DC Office Complex, Kupwara. They will participate in an exposure-cum-training visit to the Government Sheep Breeding Farm, Poshnar, Rajwar Kupwara. This initiative, organized by the Department of Sheep Husbandry, falls under the SEWA PARV program aimed at empowering local breeders and enhancing livestock management.
During the event, DC Suse appreciated the department’s efforts to support sheep rearers and assured beneficiaries of full backing in adopting modern sheep rearing techniques. He highlighted the immense potential that livestock has for livelihood generation and income enhancement, particularly within rural communities.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Ishrat, explained that the exposure program aims to provide beneficiaries with practical demonstrations and hands-on training. Participants will learn about scientific sheep rearing, flock management, advanced breeding practices, and essential animal healthcare. This training will facilitate the adoption of improved management practices to enhance productivity and ensure better animal welfare.
Technical experts from the Department of Sheep Husbandry will conduct interactive sessions at the farm. Beneficiaries will acquire firsthand knowledge of effective modern techniques that promise higher returns in sheep husbandry. The training visit also aims to showcase innovative practices that can be replicated at the grassroots level, ensuring sustainable growth and improved outcomes for sheep breeders.
