This Press & Media Centre will significantly enhance the landscape of journalism in Jammu. With dedicated facilities for news reporting and publications, as well as venues for press conferences, media briefings, research, and public engagements, the Centre aims to create a professional platform for journalists and media practitioners.

The initiative represents a concerted effort to foster transparency and accountability in journalism, as it encourages collaboration among media professionals. Established by S.Harjeet Singh, the Centre aims to uphold ethical journalism standards and promote meaningful public discourse.

Local journalist, Riya Sharma, who attended the inauguration, expressed optimism about the Centre’s role in empowering local media. She stated, "This Centre will not only provide us with resources but also foster a community of responsible journalism in Jammu."

The NFJM’s dedicated efforts to create this platform highlight its commitment to evolving India’s journalism sector. The establishment of the Press & Media Centre marks a significant development, set to revitalize professional journalism practices in the region.

In recent years, the media landscape in Jammu has faced numerous challenges. This Centre emerges as a promising solution, offering space for dialogue and collaboration among journalists, government officials, and civil society. Such engagements are crucial for developing a media framework that champions ethics and accountability.

The Press & Media Centre not only addresses journalistic needs but also aims to be a catalyst for community engagement, emphasizing that a well-informed public leads to a stronger democracy. As Dr. Rufayee noted, "Engaged citizens are the backbone of a healthy democracy, and this Centre is dedicated to fostering that engagement through responsible media practices."

With a focus on nurturing local talent, the NFJM aims to host training sessions, workshops, and seminars at the Centre, specifically tailored for aspiring journalists. This strategic move is expected to elevate the standard of journalism within Jammu and beyond, bridging gaps in media education and practical reporting.

Overall, the inauguration of the NFJM Press & Media Centre marks a new chapter for journalism in Jammu, laying the groundwork for future innovations in media practices. This facility signifies hope for fostering a responsible, ethical, and well-informed media landscape that can positively impact society.
