LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah Greet on Vijayadashami

On the eve of Vijayadashami and Gandhi Jayanti, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended their warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The messages emphasized the significance of both festivals, encouraging values of peace, unity, and righteousness.

In his address, Lieutenant Governor Sinha expressed, “On the joyous occasion of Vijayadashami, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all for their happiness, well-being and prosperity. Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of good over evil. May this sacred festival inspire us to promote unity, peace, and progress in our country.”

As the nation prepares to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, which marks Mahatma Gandhi’s 156th birth anniversary, Sinha paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation. He stated, “This day allows us to rededicate ourselves to embodying Bapuji’s ideals of peace, non-violence, truth, and compassion. His dedication to India’s freedom and social equity inspires us all.”

Sinha underlined Gandhi’s concept of Swadeshi, calling for support of local artisans and cottage industries. He felt it was essential for the community to buy Swadeshi products to promote self-reliance. “On this momentous day, let us pledge to follow the path of truth and non-violence, promoting peace and working towards a developed India,” he reiterated.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed strong greetings for Vijayadashami, highlighting its importance as a festival that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. He remarked, “Dussehra inspires the community to uphold truth, righteousness, and justice. This timeless message of moral courage is crucial for developing a better society.”

Furthermore, Abdullah extended his heartfelt greetings on Gandhi Jayanti. He emphasized the importance of Gandhi’s teachings in today’s world, stating, “Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of Satya and Ahimsa are more relevant than ever in a conflict-ridden society. His struggles against social injustice remain a beacon of hope.”

Omar Abdullah urged the youth to embrace Gandhi Ji’s ideals, advocating for values of peace, communal harmony, and brotherhood in their daily lives. He concludes, “It is our collective responsibility to foster a society grounded in these principles for a brighter future.”
