Jammu, September 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu announced new school timings affecting both government and private schools across the Jammu division. The new schedule will take effect from October 1, adapting to seasonal changes.
In the Summer Zone, schools will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting this October. However, schools will shift to a slightly later start, functioning from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM beginning in November. This adjustment aims to accommodate students’ needs during the warmer months.
For schools located within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and its surrounding urban areas, the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM timing will remain unchanged for the entire academic year. This decision addresses the urban student population’s unique scheduling needs, ensuring their convenience.
In the adjacent Winter Zone, schools will commence operations from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM starting October 1. This timing supports local communities during the colder months, promoting better attendance and participation.
The Directorate emphasized the importance of adherence to this new schedule. They indicated that strict action would follow any institution that fails to comply with these timings. This measure underscores the administration’s commitment to providing a structured and regulated educational environment.
Local education authorities urge parents and students to familiarize themselves with these changes to prepare for the academic shift. As schools gear up for this transition, it is crucial for the community to stay informed to minimize disruption during this period.
