15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag’s Drug Crackdown

The District Administration of Anantnag has intensified its crackdown on drug peddlers and violators of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, demolishing 15 illegal structures during an enforcement drive at Waghama in Bijbehara on Saturday. This operation forms a crucial part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign aimed at dismantling narcotics networks across Jammu and Kashmir.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating illegal assets linked to drug trafficking. In this joint operation, revenue authorities, with the support of the police department, tore down structures, including 15 shops, that were built illegally on State and Kahcharai land, specifically falling under Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) in Estate Waghama. These buildings reportedly connected to individuals involved in narcotics trafficking.

This significant enforcement action not only dismantles illegal constructions but also aids in reclaiming encroached State and Kahcharai land, marking a pivotal step towards safeguarding public property from unlawful occupation.

Officials emphasized the administration’s zero-tolerance approach. The District Administration stated that stringent measures against drug peddlers, narcotics networks, and illegal encroachments will persist throughout the campaign. By dismantling properties associated with the drug trade, officials aim to disrupt the supply chain of narcotics within Anantnag district.

Additionally, the administration has issued a stern warning to anyone involved in drug-related activities or illegal encroachments that they will face severe legal consequences in the coming days. The consequences of drug trafficking not only affect individual lives but also have a profound impact on communities and public safety.

As part of the Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign, the drive in Anantnag addresses a larger issue of drug abuse that continues to affect the youth of the region. Officials believe that reclaiming land used for illegal activities will assist in curbing local drug trade and promoting healthier, drug-free communities.

The recent actions against illegal structures are a clear message that the authorities prioritize public safety and community well-being. The culmination of these efforts is not just about demolishing illicit structures but also restoring the dignity of local neighborhoods affected by drug-related crime.

In conclusion, as Anantnag takes significant steps in its campaign against drugs, the administration seeks community support and vigilance. Residents are urged to cooperate with local authorities to raise awareness and report any suspicious activities related to drugs. Only through collaborative efforts can the region hope to build a safer, drug-free environment for all.
